Hello! I'll keep answering my research questions. Today's questions are related to the history of feminism.
5. When did the first feminism movement happen, and where?
6. What kind of movement was the first one as a feminism movement?
7. Which women has made the greatest progress for women's right?
According to this one article,

It is said that the roots of feminism back to the ancient Greek, but the movement called First-wave Feminism that was occurred in 19th century to early 20th century in the world is known as the first. It focused on especially legal issues like women's suffrage(the right to vote).
In terms of the U.S, the Seneca Falls Convention was famous. It was held in Seneca Falls, New York in July 19 to 20, 1848 by two women, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott. Its slogan was "a convention to discuss the social, civil, and religious condition and rights of woman."
By the way, Elizabeth Cady Stanton had been acted for women's right even after Seneca Falls Convention.

Hello! We're sorry to change the order of posting. We're going to talk about our current thinking about feminism before starting a research. To be honest, we haven't known about feminism anything since we started this blog. We couldn't explain even the concept of the "feminism" clearly.  We assume feminism is not so familiar to many people in Japan. When we did a small discussion in our class, many of our classmates answered they didn't know a lot as well. However, it's time to know and think about feminism because we think it is closely related to human rights in a broad sense. In other words, in order to establish women's right, we have to respect not only women but also men. However, we have one question. Feminism from various perspectives--- Feminist Majority Foundation

Hello!  Feminism is the concept that has been discussed by many people for a long time and there are so many perspectives about it. Today, I'll introduce one perspective about feminism in Feminist Majority Foundation's voice.  Feminist Majority Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in Virginia, the US in 1987. Our name came from a data of Gullup public opinion poll that showed the majority of American women (actually it was 56%) were self-identified as feminists. We have been working on various kinds of campaign or events related to women's right such as abortion, education equality and so on. Additionally, we became the publisher of the American liberal feminist magazine Ms.  We define the concept of feminism as  the policy, practice or advocacy of political, economic and social equality for women.  We believe women should be empowered economically, socially, and politically.  However, feminism is not for only women but also men.
